Week of September 2nd

This week the students will:
*Continue to study the letter m, p, and f
*Learn the letter "c"
*Isolate initial sounds
*Practice writing letters
*Connect sounds to letters
*Practice writing name
*Review sight words - I, am, the, little
*Learn new words - to, a
I will be sending a homework sheet home with your child.  Please help him/her with this each night.  It will only take 5- 10 minutes.  This review will be very helpful to them!

Week of August 25th

This week the students will:

*learn the letters "p" and "f" -  name and sound
*isolate initial sounds
*sing first sound song
*match a pictures initial sound
*connect sounds to letters
*learn sight words - the, little
*practice recognizing colors
*practice writing names
*review the letter "m"
*review sight words - I, am

Last week, I sent home a packet of sight words and a list of words that your child must learn.  Please help your child practice each night. Also, on Monday, I will send home homework.  Please return these sheets on Friday.  Make sure that you have signed each day that you have worked with your child.  He/she will receive a prize for completed work.  As we work together, we can help your child have a successful year in Kindergarten!

Week of August 18th

Classes will begin this week!! I have listed items that we will be learning in class this week.  Please review these with your child each day!

*Introduce the letter "m" and sound for "m"
*Target sound "m" using pictures
*Practice writing the letter "m" using the correct formation
*Match a pictures initial sound
*Connect sound to letter - Cross out the sound "m"
*Introduce the words I, am
*Find and highlight the letter "m"
*ABC card chants

Your child will be bringing home sheets that we have worked together in class.  Take time and review these with your child.

Week of August 11th

WOW!  We have had a great first week of school at CES!!

*This week, I will continue to assist the Kindergarten teachers with testing and daily routines.  I am working toward being able to begin classes at the end of the week or the beginning of next week. I am getting excited to meet my new students!  I hope everyone has a great week.
